Woodmoor - Pinecrest Citizens Assn.

My next-door neighbor came over last night to let me know that someone had been attacked on Melbourne Avenue on July 11 in the 100 block of Melbourne Avenue. She had printed out a thread that (I believe) had been running on a neighborhood listserv.

The incident took place at 9:15 a.m. A man tried to yank her out of her car, which she had just started. "She kicked him in the chest, screamed, honked her horn and he ran up Wire, toward Franklin." Another neighbor reported having seen the police on the scene a short time later.

I post this just to try to let everyone know to be careful and keep an eye out for what is happening in our neighborhoods. I've lived here for nearly 20 years and have never felt unsafe, but this happened in broad daylight and really gives me pause. If anyone is interested in forming a Neighborhood Watch group and/or exchanging contact info to keep in touch with each other and let each other know of things happening in our neighborhoods, please reply here.
