Hi! My fiancee and I just moved in on Old Ivory Way two weeks ago. I saw this website in the HOA newsletter and thought I would check it out. I read a couple of the postings and was interested in knowing whether the HOA arranges for lawns to be mowed & trimmed for houses that are vacant and even HUD. We went for a walk the other evening and noticed a house that had a very overgrown lot and looked awful. The HOA sounds like a great group and I just thought that would be one place dues could really help. Anyway, we think the neighborhood looks nice for the most part and hope to meet many of you soon!
PS Does anyone have an update on the new elementary school? Thanks!

Code enforcement...
I think the rule is 5 days, if the lawn has not been mowed in 5 days, you can call code enforcement, they will send a crew out to mow the lawn.
As far as the school goes, you can find ''up-to-date'' information on the Licking Heights website (http://www.licking-heights.k12.oh.us) As far as I know, the money has been approved to purchase new land, not sure if they have broke ground on the new elementary school yet or not.
We do, however, have a GREAT new high school to be proud of!

Welcome Neighbor!
My husband and I both welcome you and your fiance to the neiborhood! You'll love living here! Anyway, I live next to a forclosed home in the back of the community and actually caught one of the city guys over there cleaning up the front of the house(their hard to catch)and I asked him when do they mow the lawn and he looked at some chart he had and said this lawn is scheduled to be cut every 2 weeks. Which in my opinion is way too long then he said most houses are like that. Actually, we (the neighbors & my family) have been trying to keep it up ourselves! It's unfortunate.

Thank you!
Thanks so much - we really like it so far! Thanks also for the info on the mowing. That is good to know that they do it but I agree 2 weeks is too long. I don't blame you for taking care of it yourself! The previous reply said he thought if it wasn't mowed in 5 days that you could call code enforcement. I'm not sure what that means but I guess it is worth a try! Anyway, thanks again & hope you are having a great summer!
