The purpose of the association shall be to improve the livability of the City of Portland and of the Woodstock neighborhood; to promote and support projects and activities that contribute to these goals; to provide a means for citizen participation and communication in determination of affairs which directly and indirectly affect the Woodstock neighborhood. Do and perform all the activities related to said purposes, to have and enjoy all the powers granted, and engage in any lawful activity for which corporations may be organized under ORS Chapter 61.
General Membership shall be open to all residents, property owners, business licensees, and representatives of nonprofit organizations who reside or conduct business within the boundaries of the association, and who have reached the age of 18.
The Woodstock neighborhood is bordered on the west by SE 39th Avenue, and on the north by Holgate. The eastern boundary follows 60th Avenue south to Duke, then west to about 50th, south again to Glenwood, west again to 45th, then south to Crystal Springs, which forms the south border.
The Association meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Currently, meetings are being held at the Woodstock Community Center, just north of Woodstock Boulevard on SE 43rd (5905 SE 43rd). All are welcome.
Community activities include an annual Spring Cleanup on Earth Day weekend in April, a Mother's Day weekend plant sale, tree plantings, and participation in the annual Woodstock festival in August. Committees work on land use, crime prevention and special events.
To have at least 20 people trained to be part of a Neighborhood Emergency Team, certified by Portland Fire and Rescue, to aid our community in case of an emergency disaster. Call 503 823-1260 for more information.
