Congratulations to WPD Officer Kenneth Groat for his selection as Wyandotte Police Officer of the Year. Thank you for your outstanding contributions and a job well done. Best wishes to you and your family.
However... WPD Chief William Lilienthal should be administratively removed
, reassigned short of a Firing for the following reasons;
1. Lilienthal has Failed to supervise a command officer - The Candidate who has leaked active , restricted case information hoping to Silence a growing number of his critics by intentionally defaming a Wyand Businessman...he thinks (the Candidate) is out to get him. Leaking of case information , and the recruitment, and encouragement of others to head warning...a ''bullet could come at you from anywhwere'' makes Lilienthal Weak, Ineffective, and Unprofessional in the administration of this dept.
2. Lilienthal HAS NOT produced any plan, or in any way even tried to comply with established EEOC Guidelines on Women and Minority Hires at the WPD. Recently a group photograph confirmed the racial/gender mix of the Dept is similar to a small Mississippi town in 1963.
RP asks who would assume his duties?
Fortunately we have a capable Deputy Chief in Lance Green a veteran officer with the respect of his fellow officers in and out of the immediate Wyand area.
Lilienthal has not been able to corral the leaks, and planted misinformation of a Command Officer a declared Candidate for a City Council Position that pays $ 500/ per year ! and who has demonstrated he will go to any lengths to get elected, god be d... you if you get in his way.
It's time to pull the plug on the WPD Contract Talks concerning RAISES, unless and until some order is brought into this chaotic managed dept and public trust is restored to the position of Police Chief.
Like is counterchiefs in Detroit, S Rockwood, Taylor, and Allen Park who have proven inept and have violated the ethics and lost control, William Lilienthal should be immediately removed, and reassigned pending the outcome of these matters.
It also goes without saying the The Candidate should be placed on Leave as well.
Who on City Council and on the Police Commission has the backbone to make the Tough Call ?
Let's get the ball rooling as unpopular as it is, leadership has its responsibilities, so I am asking the Council and Police Commission to jointly step up , and be accountable.
Just Do it... pending the outcome.
