I do not think the Mayor gave your argument the desreved attention this requires. Spot Zoning will Kill the Ft Street Corridooor conept there are trying to create, yourn argument should have been given more consideration and
this needs to be revisited as often asd it takes to be heard.

Have you considerd running for Council
in '05 Seems like you have alot to offer if your converted from a Community Activist to Community Councilman At Large?

Please Give it Serious Consideration.

Mayor Seemed Confused

I don't believe that the mayor would even have to vote on the zoning change unless it was a tie which I believe it probably will not be.

I was just cautioning them that they are proceeding with rezoning a small piece of property instead of looking at the bigger picture or Plan. I am encouraged by Mr Daly's efforts on that parcel but I believe that he should do that parcel before he moves on further down that block. That car wash should not be surrounded by that development. A better solution would have been for the city, Mr Daly and the car wash owners to get together and figure out how to allow Daly more space and how to re-locate the carwash and how to buffer the residents from as much of the noise, lights and other inconviences of these new businesses.

The role of the council is to protect the interests of all the citizens of Wyandotte by balancing the interests of the businesses and quality of life of the residents. Sometimes a very difficult job indeed but not totally impossible. I encourage those residents to show up next week at the final reading of that zoning change as it will become law after they take that final vote next week if it passes.

I beleive that all council persons should and can be both community activists and council persons. I will probably not run because of the four year terms and because the salary is so lousy that your time isn't considered to have any value at all. The only way to get any real change is to run a slate of three like minded council persons and that seems next to impossible because Wyandotte voters are big name recognition and affiliation voters. I'm don't have longtime Wy. name recognition and I'm not a big joiner/member of groups so I guess I'm in trouble as a possible candidate. I think I can have a fair amount of influence just by being a citizen activist and a lot less aggravation than being a councilman with no support from the other five. I see how Todd Browning is treated and I don't know if I could take that kind of treatment for four years without going crazy or resigning in frustration.

R.P.

I must say, I was screaming at the TV last night, not at you, but WITH you. You made some very good points that the entire council didn't seem to understand. Sure, they let the citizens speak their mind about the issue, but they DO NOT consider it one bit. They are going to do as they please with disregard for the neighborhood. This behavior is not specific to this situation. There is rarely any consideration for the neighborhood when these projects are undertaken. Your point that the council needs to consider the community as well, was overlooked by the council.

In a previous meeting the owners of the car wash stated that the plan continues to change from the original accepted. Sabuda had Daley come up to the podium and asked if this was true, Daley said no. So, Sabuda told the car wash owners that the plan was not changed, even though she had proof of the change (which sabuda would not look at). Why would he simply believe Daley and not even consider the possibility that he is lying? It is so frustrating when the opinions of the citizens are just pushed away and not considered (ie: just like the lot on 12th and superior). Are they really that smart that they don't need help or advice from the community? I don't think so. Especially with all the poor grammar. Plus, if Tolluto sticks his finger down his throat one more time, to moisten it to turn a fricken page, or says ''um'' after every sentence, I am going to scream!!!!!!

Sorry about the diatribe, but watching last nights meeting makes me think there are some real derelicts making some pretty important decisions lately. (fyi - there are some really good councilman, but they seem to be following like sheep lately.)

Representation

Mr. Daly was represented quite well by the council. The neighborhood was not.
