Great Idea
We certainly do need some kind of warning system, especially for the times we might not have a t.v. or radio on, like when we are sleeping. Many people hve been taken by surprise in the middle of the night.

Four Years Ago
I was working on a Disaster Recovery Program for the city when Larry Stec was Mayor and a warning system was part of it. We were going to Piggyback off the BASF system and alert the citizens of any pending dangers.
This current Mayor and Council put it on the back burner, so far back it was lost, until a few months ago. They formed a group and now they have the Phone Call Up and the AM Radio station.
If you want to be notified by phone and have an unlisted phone you can get a form at City Hall, Police Station, Recreation Dept and off the internet city@wyan.net

BASF sysytem
The BASF warning system sounds like a good idea, but the phone one doesn't. How are you going to notify everyone by phone when time is of most essence? What if the phone lines are down?

Will the counsel......
be talking about using the BASF siren for severe weather anytime soon? Or would a citizen someone have to present it to them at a meeting?
