Ol' ''Black Jack''? He was an older man back in the 60's and 70's who used to hang out at the pool hall and some of the bars along eureka. He used to live in the upstairs apt. in the the house that used to be on the south east corner of 11th and eureka.

I remember he could be a mean s.o.b. when he was drinking and losing at pool.
He always wore a white shirt and a tie, and used to keep a roll of cash in the tag on the back his tie.

Rumor was back then that he was a gangster back in the 30's and 40's.
I dont know if that was true or not.
Does anyone else remember him??

I have heard at my station that he still gets mail from a lady friend in
Florida but it gets sent back to sender no adress of record

it is amazing, but it is true! someone still write to him 2 - 3 times per year!
