Has anyone tried Vonage? It is a phone line available through the internet that allows you to send & receive local and long distance calls for $24.95/month. Any feedback would be great.

watch out

two things to consider with IP telephone. One, make sure they have figured out how to procure a 911 call. two, make sure your alarm monitoring company will be able to work with this technology. Both of which, I dont think they have solutions for.

We just ran into (accidentally)a Comcast rep over the weekend who was signing folks in Wylie up for phone service which included the following: $29.95/mo for unlimited local and long distance (fee guaranteed for 1 yr). There is no deposit, free installation and the first month is free. Needless to say, we signed up immediately. I office from home and Verizon was charging an average of $90-$100/mo for two lines. I will now have a set charge of around $50/mo for both lines. I DON'T WORK FOR COMCAST. But this is a great deal. I have the name and number of the rep if you want it.
