Stamp Out Hungry

Subject: Help Stamp Out Hunger

Dear Friend,

How many bags of food does it take to help feed the hungry? Just one.

Last year, in a single day, an estimated 6,000,000 Americans filled a bag of nonperishable foods and placed it by their mailbox and collectively provided over 70,000,000 pounds of food for people in need.

This Saturday, May 12th, over 230,000 letter carriers in more than 10,000 communities will collect food items and deliver them to local food banks to help 35 million Americans at hunger risk, including an estimated 13 million children.

Since 1993, families have donated more than a half-billion pounds of food to Stamp Out Hunger! You can help make this year our most successful yet.

It is essential that we continue work together to spread the word about this important initiative; therefore, I am asking that you do the following:

?§ Tell all your friends about this great humanitarian effort. Please forward this email this to your entire address book.
?§ Place a bag of nonperishable food items next to your mailbox on Saturday, May 12th. Your letter carrier will pick up the bags and deliver them to your local food bank.

We truly appreciate you taking the time to do what you can, and assure you that your contribution will make a difference for those in need.

Thank you for your support.
