Yorktown North Maintenance Association

Minutes for February 9, 2006 Meeting

Mar 06, 2006

Present: Charles Owen, Carol Kidd, Vicki Welch, Linda Duncan, Mark Osborn, Mike Kirchenbrod (Alt. for Bob Davison), Donnie Faulkner

Absent: Tim Hardy, Martin Rothman, Bob Davison

Guests: Randy Heady, Larry Warren

The Minutes for January were read and approved, as was the Treasurer's Report (Donnie moved; Mark seconded; passed), which showed a bank balance of $75,824.64 as of January 25, 2006.

Old Business:

Fence - The fence around 3/4 of the front lake was completed at a cost of $16,667.50. The last 1/4 will be completed as soon as the Highway Department finishes the grading of the spillway going under National Turnpike and emptying into the lake.

Trees - Trees donated by Pull-A-Part have been planted around both of our lakes by landscaper Ed Nelson. $22,400 worth of a variety of hearty and colorful trees were provided by Pull-A-Part as how they met their 15% tree canopy obligation for the Zoning Board.

Linda called Highway Department personnel concerning the need for purchasing an easement for our mowers to use. She was told that we already have a ten-foot easement outside the fence and nothing else is necessary.

Streetlights - Streetlight poles are leaning along Old Towne Rd. and Old North Church Rd. Bob Davison will check on having these poles returned to upright positions next month.

Entrances - Our entrances will not be landscaped until after April, when sidewalks are completed along National Turnpike.

Erosion on the south lake - Linda has made several attempts to contact Jill Allen of MSD to request that MSD fill in land and rock at the Sam inlet where rushing water has dissolved land back to the fence line. Steve Clark has also tried to contact her and will continue to do so.

Request for detached garage - The Board decided not to approve Larry Warren's plans for a detached garage that he wanted to build on his property at 7412 Old North Church Rd. Setting guidelines for detached structures and deciding how these guidelines would be enforced was not something for which these directors wanted to assume responsibility.

New Business:

A date for the spring clean-up around the south lake needs to be chosen.

Items for the April newsletter need to be submitted at the March meeting, along with a date for distribution of the April newsletter.

Adjourned: 8:35 p.m.
Next meeting - March 9 - 7:00 p.m. - Epiphany UMC
