Nov 13, 2007

Present: Directors Charles Owen, Vicki Welch, Donnie faulkner, Mark Osborn, Murry Harral, Martin Rothman, Bob Davison, Linda Duncan, Billy Vincent

Guest: Officer Scott Sturgeon

Residents - 30 in attendance

Agenda:

Budget for 2008 - Charles and Vicki explained what is budgeted for next year. (attached) Pam Ullrich moved we accept; Jan Hardy seconded; approved.

Trees along National Turnpike will not be put in until we are able to extend the irrigation system to provide water for the trees; bids will be taken before spring. Resident reported the chain-link fence along the back of the lower lake is down. Bob will check this out. No Trespassing signs will be added to the back lake, as they are on the front lake. Block Watch update - Log kept on website; we've added a Hotline (367-3882) if residents need to report anything; curfew signs will be going up as soon as J.C. Speagle has them ready.

Officer Scott Sturgeon reports crime in our division down 32%. Report crime via 574-2111 or 574-2111. Biggest issues - speeding; reckless driving in neighborhood; illegal parking (vehicles for sale park in driveway; otherwise, street parking okay if vehicle operative; no parking on easement or off driveway); unlicensed drivers on streets in motor-powered scooters are illegal, as are four-wheelers on the street; Vicki meets every six weeks with Major to discuss division crime reports.

* Note: Stop signs have been requested for Sam/York River and Old Towne / Old North Church Rd. Public Works is considering this.

MSD and the lakes - Murry reports that MSD is trying to do spot rock fills when erosion moves into the property owner's line; plan is to put a 6 ft. pipe in the ditch along the back lake, drain and repair back lake, and let it fill again.

Garbage pick-up - Hometown took over Dixie and raised rates from $99 to $154, which is still lower than others are charging; 3/4 of the subdivision now use Hometown.

Elections - Linda Duncan, Mark Osborn, and Martin Rothman were re-nominated and re-elected un-opposed for new three-year terms.

All residents were reminded to clean the gutters in front of their homes since we no longer have a contract with a street-cleaner.

Adjourned: 11:05 a.m.
Next meeting - November 15 - 7:00 p.m. - Epiphany
