Yorktown North Maintenance Association

Minutes for January 12, 2006

Jan 16, 2006

Present: Charles Owen, Carol KIdd, Vicki Welch, Linda Duncan, Martin Rothman, Bob Davison, Christie VanBuren (alt. for Tim Hardy)

Absent: Mark Osborn, Tim Hardy

Guests: Randy Heady and Larry Warren

Mr. Warren presented for consideration his plan to build a detached garage on his property at 7412 Old North Church Rd. He wants to build a separate garage so all four of his cars can be off the street. It will also help obstruct the view he has of his neighbor's unkempt yard. He will bring specific plans to next month's meeting.

Results of Election of Officers for 2006:
President - Dr. Charles Owen
Vice-President - Carol KIdd
Secretary - Linda Duncan
Treasurer - Vicki Welch

Minutes for November were read and approved (Carol moved; Vicki seconded; passed) as was the Treasurer's Report. As of December 24, we have a bank balance of $94,583.14.

Old Business:

Trucks parked on the sidewalk, trailers in driveways - Linda will call Councilman Weston's office to report the addresses of offenders to IPL. Carol will add a third address where a trailer sits on blocks.

Fences - A new fence has been built around 3/4 of the north lake at a cost of $16,000. When construction on National Turnpike is completed, the last 1/4 of the lake will get its new fence.

Trees from Pull-A-Part - The 112 trees promised by Pull-A-Part will be planted as soon as reps of the Board meet with landscaper Mr. Ed Nelson. We plan to meet at the south lake at 10:00 a.m. 1/13/06 unless it rains. Mr. Nelson wants to mark the tree spots according to the plan made by Matt Nally.

New Business:

Easement - Bob reports that the Highway Department is urging us to get an easement for our mowers to use so that the state will not be held liable if a mower is injured at that crossing onto our property. Linda will call Councilman Weston's office to find out how we should do this. She will also call Mr. Rob Harris, the man Bob talked with about this.

Streetlights - Bob has contacted LG&E about our leaning light posts along Old North Church Rd. They will fix these. The four lights on the walls at the entrances will be repaired by April, according to Bob.

Unkempt yard on Old North Church Rd. - Linda will call IPL to check on this residence since it was reported by Larry Warren.

Notices for our Block Watch Meeting will go out in February.

Adjourned: 8:50 p.m.
Next meeting - February 9 - 7:00 p.m. - Epiphany United Methodist Church
