Minutes for August 16, 2007

Present: Martin Rothman, Linda Duncan, Billy Vincent, Murry Herrel, Bob Davison, Donnie Faulkner, Mark Osborn, Charles Owen, Vicki Welch

Guests: MSD representatives discussing the lakes and what MSD will do to help shore up eroded spots and what the future looks like for the back lake; residents (Gary Weyser, Mr. and Mrs. Layman, Shania Wise of Declaration,) complaining against 127 Declaration for restriction violations occurring on that property. IPL will be notified.

The Treasurer's Report for June / July was read and (Murry moved; Marty seconded) approved. The bank balance as of July 26 was $21,162.72.


Old Business:

Are we ready to have Mr. Nelson plant replacement trees along the National Turnpike fence?

We considered the cost of mailing our newsletters (3 times a year X 365 homes X $.41 per letter = $448.95 + $60 for envelopes = $508.95 per year to have newsletters mailed.) Donnie moved we go to mailing our newsletters; Vicki seconded - passed.

Newsletter items - Hotline number - 367-3882;
Yardsale October 5, 2007 at 8 - ?; Curfew signs due up with Block Watch signs, depending on JC Speagle and when they will be ready; Annual Meeting October 20, 9:00 a.m., Epiphany UMC; inclusion of checklist of restriction violations.

Call police to report suspicious activity, then call Hotline number (367-3882) to get it on our log.


New Business:

Donnie reports the need to have speed limit signs and stop signs refurbished. Donnie will contact someone who does that for neighborhoods.

U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth is opening an office at the Southwest Government Center August 28.

Congressman on the Corner will be held at Manslick and Fairdale Rd. up by Pic Pac on September 1. Metro Councilwoman Vicki Welch will be joining Yarmuth for that event.

Donnie reported a fire at Enterprise that had to wait for the arrival of a fire department from Iroquois. Will suggest better arrangements be made when he attends the Mayor's Community Conversation on August 20.
