Minutes for September 20, 2007

Oct 15, 2007

Present: Donnie Faulkner, Vicki Welch, Linda Duncan, Mark Osborn, Bob Davison, Martin Rothman, Murry Harral, Billy Vincent, Al Church for Charles

Absent: Charles Owen

Block Watch Meeting:

Guest: Officer Scott Sturgeon

Scott reported on 396 speeding tickets having been given in our division, on crime prevention information having been delivered to neighbors following a break-in attempt on Declaration, his stopping the hunting going on off Enterprise and over to Pull-A-Part.

Scott also gave some suggestions for slowing speeders: add crosswalks, maybe cobblestone; add reflectors to crosswalks; add rumble sticks.

Scott also warned parents that they should be alarmed if they see their kids are responding to messages on the computer that contain SBDM, for these letters contain satanic references. We invited him to the Annual Meeting October 20.

The Minutes were read and approved, as was the Treasurer's Report, which contained a $100 error that Vickie said she could correct. The bank balance as of September is $13,910.78.

Old Business:

Donnie pointed out that we need to refurbish our speed limit signs. Donnie will check with JC Speagle to see if he has the decals.

We are still uncertain as to what extent MSD will shore up the eroded parts of the lake. They have agreed to repair several spots already, claiming that these lakes are not theirs. We will continue to ask for rocking at certain collapsed spots and hope MSD will continue to help us get these spots rocked.

Murry will keep in touch with MSD regarding when they intend to put in the 6-foot pipe in the back ditch.

New Business:

Vicki moved, Donnie seconded that we send a fruit basket to Charles when he comes home from the hospital. Passed. Linda will order.

We will be asking Fields for an updated list of residents.

Bob reports the small signs placed in the islands have been taken. We will not replace them.

Linda will call the Courier-Journal to place the two-day ad for the neighborhood-wide yardsale on October 6.

Adjourned: 8:25 p.m.
Next meeting: October 18-7:00 p.m.- Epiphany UMC
