Al Church reported that the speed limit sign at Sam and York River needs to be re-set.
Metro government will not provide curfew signs. Linda will check with J.C. Speagle about having some made for us.
If motion passes, Linda will set up a hotline voice mail service with Southend Answering Service, costing $15 per month. This number will be made available in our next newsletter. Motion made by Donnie, seconded by Vicki; approved.
The treasurer's Report was approved as were the minutes for May, with changes. The bank balance as of April 24, 2007, is $29, 318.69
Old Business:
Directors are considering mailing newsletters at a cost of $149 for the September issue. Charles agreed to check on mailing labels and envelopes
Ken George is to sign papers turning over ownership of the land strips and sidewalks leading to the front lake and the back lake.
New Business:
Mary Byrnes of Brightside sent us a thank-you note for our participation in the lake clean-up.
Murry moved, Mark seconded the motion that we ask P&R to give us an estimate on how much it would cost to cut down and haul off two dead trees along National Turnpike, all agreeing that if the cost is $75 per tree or less, we go ahead and have them removed.
We also agreed to have P&R cut weeds to the waterline for the fall, as we have done the past two years.
Bob agreed to call Penrod and make sure about our not needing to paint or stain our poplar fence.
Al Church accepted the position of Alternate on the board.
Murry agreed to look for some No Soliciting stickers at Home Depot if neighbors want to display these.
Linda reports that Pull-A-Part continues to be a good neighbor, maintaining a clean and neat business operation and, meantime, giving $8,800 as a donation to the Blessings in a Backpack program for JCPS. Every time the Louisville Fire arena football team made a first down, Pull-A-Part gave a donation.
Murry moved and Bob seconded the motion to cancel our July meeting. All approved.
Everyone is reminded to attend the Mayor's Community Conversation on August 20 at Fairdale High School, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
