Yorktown North Maintenance Association

Minutes for May 13, 2004

Aug 01, 2005

Present: Carol Kidd, Vicki Welch, Charles Owen, Tim Hardy, Jimmy Hickey, Mark Osborn, Bob Davison, Linda Duncan

Absent: Dennis Hamilton

Minutes for April were read and approved. The Treasurer's Report as of April 26 showed a bank balance of $52,049. Jimmy is going to check on the street-cleaning bill to get the date services were rendered. Bob is going to call the water company to see why, since we are paying for this service, the water to our sprinklers has not been turned on. A motion to approve the Treasurer's Report was made by Carol and seconded by Tim, and the report was approved.

Old Business:

Alternates - Our new alternates are Karen Klein and Steve Montgomery. Mark Rothman remains as our third alternate.

Trees-on-the-lake project - Linda contacted Matt Nally of Operation Brightside to see if money from OB would be available to help us plant trees around the eroding shoreline of the older lake. While no money can be contributed, Matt agreed to put us in contact with the landscaper OB uses, and he can get us a good price on a variety of trees (Golden Willow, Sunset Red Maple, River Birch, two varieties of Cypress) that will serve to slow erosion and look beautiful. Before we begin this project, Linda and Tim will be contacting residents with a form offering residents a chance to pay for a tree planted in the memory of someone special. If there is a good response to this, Linda will contact J.C. Speagle about making memorial plaques to go with the trees.

Owing dues - 17 homeowners have not paid dues. Vicki has agreed to check on the legalities of publishing their names in our August newsletter.

Streetlights - As of this meeting, no additional poles have been added to the number of lights in the subdivision. Tim will be checking on this.

New Business:

Fences - It was suggested that we put into our budget next year money to repair the fences. This way we could rotate repair by sections instead of trying to spend a lot of money every few years repairing the entire fence. This will be done.

Charles reports the need to rebuild fencing along the back lake. Tim and Carol agreed to call several fence companies and get their suggestions on how best to fence this area. They will bring these suggestions to the June 10 meeting.

MSD / sidewalk - Linda agreed to call MSD about repairing the concrete inlet at the lake end of the sidewalk from Old Towne Rd.

Flags - Mark and Bob did return the Yorktown flags to their poles along National Turnpike. As a result of Directors' desire to continue using these flags, Charles will be ordering 4 new replacement flags at a cost of $85 per flag and a $150 set-up fee. These will replace the tattered ones we now have.

Adjourned: 9:00 p.m.
Next meeting: June 10, - 7:00 p.m. - Bearno's
