Guest: Gene Alvey, Old Towne Rd.
Mr. Alvey was there to report a ditch needing MSD to clean it out; lawns needing mowed; and his suspicion of multi-families living at certain addresses. Charles will send letters to the two addresses needing to mow grass 211 AND 215 Old Towne Rd. *Charles reminded all that MSD expects homeowners to keep ditches clear when they run next to property line.
Vicki will have Steve Clark check on the building permits issued to 212 Old Towne where a room is being built over a deck and attached to the house.
The Minutes were read and approved, as was the Treasurer's Reports for July and August. Murry moved to approve; Marty seconded - passed.
Old Business:
Linda will place the ad in the C-J for our October 4 Neighborhood-wide Yard Sale and put signs on the islands to remind residents one week before. She will also record this reminder on our Hotline.
Charles will announce in a newsletter the Annual Meeting to be held October 18 at 9:00 a.m. at Epiphany
P&R will replace the dead trees along National Turnpike.
MSD is taking bids on the lake rip-rap project and will get their board's approval by mid-October.
Since we don't have enough wrecks to warrant Stop signs on Old Towne or Sam, Vicki will ask LMPD to set a speed detail on these streets again to remind neighbors to slow down. At the Annual Meeting, we will propose rumble strips or speed humps for consideration by all residents. It requires 75% of the residents to support either. * Charles will add a reminder of speeding fines in the coming newsletter.
New Business:
Bob reports that the irrigation valve at Old Towne island was stolen and needs to be replaced. We could replace it with a plastic valve, or we can put a box around both islands' valves and secure them. He will check to see best solution. Murry moved; Vicki seconded that Bob buy what is needed to fix and secure the valves; passed.
Block Watch - It was reported that five houses had their landscape lighs broken after Labor Day - on Old Towne, Nantucket, and Declaration. Linda will record this on the Hotline where we will offer a reward for infromation leading to the identification of individuals who either broke out the lights or stole the irrigation valve.
Charles will send a letter to 308 Chippendale where resident is in violation of neighborhood restrictions by having constructed a shed without prior board approval. charles will send letters to others in violation as they are identified.
Vicki will be rolling over a CD worth $27, 927 from our account at National City, getting us a better rate if possible.
Budget for 2009 - Reduce money in irrigation; add to Miscellaneous expenses, which for this year will cover new signs for the neighborhood.
Placement of satellite dishes are not covered in our restrictions. Ordinance only says no writing on it. We need to consider how to add a restriction to their placement on property.
Bob moved to adjourn; seconded by Donnnie - passed
Adjourned: 8:15 p.m.
Next meeting - October 16 - 7:00 p.m. - Epiphany
