Block Watch Report:
Vicki and Linda met with 3rd Division police leadership June 13 where it was reported that for one week, there were no break-ins in our Division area. Since then there was a break-in on Declaration, two signs stolen off Sam Drive, and police called on a band of kids out past curfew in the neighborhood.
Linda reported that neighbors should go to louisvilleky.gov, then MetroWatch to get the latest info on crime in our vicinity.
Linda, having received permission at the last meeting, had two signs made for our entrance islands to post when the need arises to alert all residents to call the Hotline for an important message. Cost - $30.
It was reported that Mike Long's house on Puritan Court was destroyed by fire. Anyone wishing to contribute to the family will be informed of where to send their checks (Vicki will get that info to Charles) as soon as Charles prepares a mailng of that and other neighborhood information.
An anonymous tip left on our Hotline number disclosed that multi-families are suspected of residing at 212 Old Towne Rd. That information was passed on to IPL for city investigation.
The Minutes for May were read and approved, as was the Treasurer's Report, which showed we had a bank balance of $35,063.10 as of May 25. (Murry moved; Martin seconded; approved)
Old Business:
Our attorney sent a letter to the homeowner at 7418 York River Rd., reminding him to make no structural changes to the property without first getting approval from the Board of Directors.
New Business:
Charles instructed our attorney to send a letter to the homeowner at 409 Old Towne Rd., reminding him/her to move his/her satellite dish from the front to the back of his/her house.
It was also reported that a business is being run out of a tent on the driveway at 7504 York River Rd. 311 will be contacted to investigate this report.
Murry asked the Board to instruct P&R to clean and mow all property leading down to both lake banks. His motion to have this done did not have a second, as Directors disagreed on the impact such removal of all foliage might have on the eroding shoreline. Charles did agree we should talk to P&R about cleaning closer to the banks. Marty volunteered to talk with P&R about this.
It was decided to postpone Lake Clean-up Day to the fall.
Vicki has arranged a meeting with Bud Shardein to walk our lakes and determine what needs to be done to allay further erosion. This meeting will take place sometime in July.
Vicki has already reported to the train company that the train blocked the highway for an hour- and-a-half. She did give their explanation - lightning strike on equipment, shift change of personnel. The delay generated widespread complaints.
Charles will notify Fish and Wildlife officials that a fungus on parts of the lake is killing the fish.
Adjourned: 8:30 p.m.
Next meeting - July 17, 2008
