Block Watch Meeting - February 3, 2005

Advice for setting up our Block Watch will come from Renee Stigall - Department of Neighborhoods


Advice from the two police officers:

Don't leave valuables in plain view inside parked cars (Cell phones, garage door openers are big theft items.)

Don't leave cars idling.

Put up "Radar Enforced" signs to help direct attention to our 25 m.p.h. speed limit.

Post Block Watch signs and Keep Kids Alive... signs after we have our second BW meeting in March.

Form phone trees for all sections of the neighborhood to disseminate alerts. Have a neighborhood-wide meeting March 3 to get widespread participation in forming our Block Watch. Mitzi agreed to make the flier announcing the meeting.

Form sectional walking groups to watch on certain nights and report suspicious activity to police.

Install security cameras at both entrances.

Remind neighbors to clearly display house numbers.

Make street signs easier to read so response time can be quicker.

Check the website called Citizen Observer for crime information that is posted by district.
