Traffic Project-Changes Needed

Posted in: Boulevard Park
Now that most of the changes have taken place on C and D Streets...particularly around Blue Diamond (and I hope they paid for the privatization of those public streets), we need to have some changes/enhancements made to the traffic control devices in the area (ie stop signs). It is my opinion that there is no longer a need for stop signs on the "public use" or "city owned" parts of the intersections at C & 17th and C & 19th Streets. Also, the Stop signs on D at 18th Streets should be removed, and new signs added at D at 17th and D at 19th Streets. This would improve the flow of traffic that uses this area while increasing safety at those intersections that are now more heavily used because of redirection.
Additionally, just as a gripe, living on D Street has become a maze of twists and turns to get home from either Highway 160 or Business 80. Could there be a consideration to move either the barriers on D or E streets so that it is more staggered. I really hate having to dodge so many obsticles to get home, and usually having to go two blocks out of my way no matter what direction I come from.

When we set up the diverter system, no two diverters lined up. The city did that. The diverters on D street were put in as an afterthought at the behest of some home owners. The street already had stop signs every other block, and a diagonal diverter at 14th street put in before my time.
