The Zelma Fields neighborhood is a small section of the Fern Creek/Highview area of Jefferson County that was developed for residential housing.
The first sections of the subdivision were built in 1959 by Mr. and Mrs. Shobe. Mrs. Shobe, named Zelma Shobe, is whom the neighborhood is named after. One of the streets in the subdivision is also named Shobe Lane after the family itself. The property was originally a large number of acres with a small frame home that still stands and is occupied as a home on Shobe Lane today.
The association was established in 1979 as an agent to collect the dues and elect a committee to oversee their use.
There are a few ways to get involved in the association. The Executive Committee meets on Monday Feburary 12, June 4 and October 8 in room 2 of the courthouse at the Central Government Center on the Outer Loop. Everyone is welcome to attend. Voting on neighborhood changes and discussions about topics occurs during these meetings.
