First I really want everyone who has posted here and called or emailed my house that your efforts are so very much appreciated!'
I am home from the hospital today and it will take a little while like always to get back on my feet, I can see we all are certainly not going to let this stuff get out of hand.
Most of us have kids, friends with kids or grandkids in this neighborhood. The child enticement issue from my understanding is not over. I will try and work privately with those families involved who are wiling, get them involved with the proper officials, and find out why this whole fiasco may not have been properly handled-and we really need to support each other within the proper manner within the law, or forget about making a case against this SOB. I'd refrain from posting to much info. right now on this specific matter in such a public forum, just until the proper officials get involved.
The Home Invasion and attempted car jacking which occurred last week is also disgusting, and needs to be addressed, in addition to the punk patrol, and everything else going on here, not to forget 39th Street which is part of the problems here, need we not forget all these things are connected in one way or another. We also have had people going door to door panhandling neighbors for money! On one occassion the guy was wearing surgical gloves when it was at least 80 drgrees!
No offense to ATT or these other Alarm companies,but I know that they can be pretty useless, because if you make a call for the police, your call is given no more priority then if you call the police directly, and your call then goes to the bottom of the pile of calls!
I agree with Mz. Piggy that we need a meeting.
I'd like to put some these incidents (dates and times) in some kind of list form for officials. I know we have posted alot here, put it would be good at a meeting to hand it over to the Alderman, Cty. Supervisor, Captain from #3 and the Deputy Chief who was at our meeting a few months ago. Its more hard hitting that way and gives them something on paper to come away with to do homework on-so they have to report back to us.
Now to a meeting date-in the Park would be perfect, I 'd suggest thursday evening at 7pm, with a rain date (same time) of friday. Get all our info. together, etc. The weather should be less horribly hot by then!
We should also push to keep the beat cops asap-even if it cannot be every night of the week! The Police District Captain will be back in town on July 1st, but I am sure an alternate can be sent to the meeting.
I'll need help getting a flyer out about the meeting-Who can help at least get them out in the neighborhood? I could have them by tuesday night/ Also I and a few others will try and line up the officals to be there!
