Dear Mary,
Seems for the past 15 years in East Pleasant View, drug transactions seem more flagrant and brazen. Whenever more than three teenagers or young adults in hoodies gather together, something illegal occurs.
About 1996, my wife and I were traveling south on Sabin Street on a Sunday afternnoon. Suddenly, at an intersection, two men in hoodies blocked an intersection and completed a drug transaction in front of four sides of traffic.
Shocked, my wife forced me to travel right through the stop sign. Nearly hit the two of them. However, the dealers seemed oblivious to what happened around them.
This could have been an undercover police officer's bust they could have laughed about in the locker room for years.
However, at the time, seeing that with my wife and two young children proved discouraging.
Peace, Jim
