Feral Cats

Posted in: Amphi

Is there anyone else having trouble with an  over flow of feral cats in our neighborhood?  I know have ten feral cats living in my back yard.  I have tried to find help in finding monies to pay to have them TNR, but no luck.  Please let me know if anyone else has this problem.

Yes. We have ten to twenty in our neighborhood. (Maybe more, they keep multiplying.) Douglas County Animal control will not come get them. They said that sometimes Saving Grace has traps they will loan out. I am going to contact them around the first of July and if they have any, see if I can get them. Then I will have to catch as many of them as I can and bring them in myself. I have called all of the shelters in the phone book, animal rescue, and animal control and NONE of them will come get them. In the meantime these cats are starving, diseased and out of control. The people who abandoned them should be forced to be responsible for taking care of this problem but noone seems to care.

Did you contact The Feline Fix? I don't know if they serve Douglas County. http://www.thefelinefix.org It's a shame there aren't more resources out there. It is absolutely a community problem and one that should be addressed by tax-funded resources for community members. Feline Fix does quite a bit of fund raising but Denver also gave them a grant. They have TNR over 23,000 cats in Denver metro alone.
And here is the sociopathy of the Tea Party conservative hate group, on full display. This is why I will NEVER vote for one of these a$$clowns, not even for dog catcher. Stupid, deluded, uneducated, violent, hateful, anti-social idiots who think they've reinvented an interpretation of the Constitution to fit their sociopathic worldview. Is there any type of tax increase on the next ballot? I sure as hell hope so, because I'll vote for it just to piss you off.

I am in a very similar position. I am in Victorville, CA, on a set income & disabled. I need help relocating these cats. I think there are 11 now, with one pregnant again. Our neighbors helped up TNR most of them, but 3 females & a a male eluded us. They live in my garage and we feed them. I know we never should have started, but too late now. We cannot aford to feed them and I do not want to call animal control. I have called so many people up here & no one will help us. If anyone know of anywhere we can go, please reply.

Thanks
