a few facts
It looks as if it?’s about your perspective so I thought I would share with you mine. If anybody is aware of how hard, it is to get things accomplished for 88 homeowners and make them all happy it is Mr. Self as he was once in Mr. Hebert shoes. I know that he respect the job that is currently being done.
You are correct in the fact that it has been a bumpy ride for both Mr. Self and Mr. Hebert taking on such responsibility is no easy task. I do not believe that anybody disputes that the appearance of our neighborhood or the value of our homes has gone down with the current board nor did it go down with the prior board. Your ditch is parish maintained and you can have them dig it out as often as necessary, I would be happy to pass that number on to you. All of the neighborhoods off Dunn Rd. are being resurfaced most are complete hopefully we will be next. You are also correct in the fact that every vote counts but it was impossible to speak with 88 homeowners in one day. The purpose was to let people know that he was running get a few of his ideas out there and open up room for discussion. I am not sure that it is fair to speak about Mr. Self?’s character after stating that you have never met him.
I wanted to let you know a few of the things that the first board actually accomplished in the short eight months they had. They faced quite a lot of adversity not to mention two hurricanes during their term. It was quite a time consuming job to meet with the Dukes to get the neighborhood turned over, Setting up accounts, Title Company, filing with the Sectary of State, insurance quotes. Once all that was accomplished, they had signs made and also donated, yard of the month, lake, speed and children at play. The board also took money out of their own pockets to pay for copies, ink to make 880 copies to ensure that all homeowners had a copy of the restrictions. Then once again took their own money and bought the chemicals sulfur sulfate and 24d to spray the lakes not once but twice. One hundred percent participation with the collection of dues and I sure you are well aware that that is no small accomplishment.
Lastly, I would like to address the selflessness of Mr. Self I think you might have been a little quick to judgment. After all the things I mentioned above for the good of the entire neighborhood I am sure you have seen him at the entrance of our neighborhood along with Ceil Garaudy and Randy McCoy with their own equipment maintaining the entrance so that when you pull in it looks nice. I am sure that you don?’t know that Mr. McCoy had to replace his transmission on a brand new lawnmower after cutting the over grown entrance, so we all glad that Mr.Garaudy is maintaining them on a regular basis now.
