Fun meeting coming up!

I look forward to meeting everyone there. It should be a fun kickoff for election time. I hope some of the Board can come becuase I'm sure they will be interested in meeting some of the fine residents who wish to join them on the board. See everyone there.

Format?

I see where it's been stated that this is an informal meeting, but is there any format at all? X # of minutes for candidate to speak? Are there any plans for addressing the possibility of one faction or another trying to ''take over'' the meeting?

Format is open

Hi Gretchen,

The format for tonight's meeting is informal. That means that the candidates will have some say in the format, there will be a moderator for fairness and to read some comon questions, and most importantly, there will be plenty of time to field quesions from the audience and give each candidate an opportunity to respond.

The purpose of this Town Hall meeting is to give candidates some public exposure and community recognition. Our election is going to be moving forward at a very fast past in the next few weeks, so we need every opportunity to introduce these community leaders and give the CCHOA members a chance to check them out.

It's hard enough to get your message to 3000+ home owners.

I would strongly encourage each candidate to start a web site for easy reference.

It's also hard to campaign for a director's position that CCHOA hasn't yet defined - for instance, we don't know if everyone will run ''at large'' and draw lots for seats, or if the positions will be uniquely identified, including the length of the term (rember, 2 of the terms are less than the full 3 years).

It's unfortunate that we started a race with out the rules in place, but that's what happens when an organization doesn't bother to update their By-Laws or create a reasonable set of rules for these kinds of inevitable events.
