Rusty, you can't really think that we are stupid enough to believe that ALL THIS FIGHTING that the BOD have been doing (Steve B.ref. to above) did all of this from his warm heart... IT'S FOR PROFIT. HE IS A DEVELOPER, OF COURSE HE CARES, HE MAKES MONEY. The history of this place is kinda like a war zone and most of the community does not think highly of CCR.

Maybe Steve Bartlett is not a ''Bad Guy''.

But he certainly is a Bad Guy for Circle C. Why would anyone, with any education, think his decisions that produce profits for him would automatically be good decisions for the residents of Circle C?

A 2,400-acre development southeast of Austin is close to gaining municipal approvals, with negotiations including talk of a land swap.

Terms of the deal call for two of the four municipal utility districts, or MUDs, to be transferred from Austin's to Buda's extraterritorial jurisdiction, says Ben Luckens, city planner for the City of Austin. Those two MUDs total about 1,400 acres, according to City of Buda files. Primarily residential uses are planned for the two MUDs.

Applications for four MUDs in northern Hays and southern Travis counties were submitted to the cities of Buda and Austin late last year. Documents outline office, retail and residential uses for more than 2,400 acres. The documents also project the assessed value of the land will be $1.9 billion, once the improvements are made.

Behind the project are three high-profile development and investment figures in Central Texas -- Clark Wilson, Douglas Kadison and Charles Nichols. A company associated with another high-profile developer, Gary Bradley, has an option to buy the land.

Steve Bartlett of the Bartlett Group is listed as the developer for the MUD applications. Bartlett couldn't be reached for comment.
