The last thing I wanted was another stop sign. I was very pleased to read that the traffic calming committee is recommending a speed hump (which one can drive over at 20-25 mph) rather than a stop sign at the corner of Center and whatever street it is before Statute Lane.  Thanks!

Our household is voting "No!" on everything.   This traffic calming is not necessary when most of the time there is hardly any traffic.  It's crazy to put in more speed bumps and chicanes to deal with traffic that's only busy Monday through Friday (9 months of the year = school season) for an hour or so every morning.  We don't see traffic in Barrister's Association as an all-day, every day problem at all.

For the most part I agree with you.  But, on weekends we do occassionally get speeders (and I mean SPEEDERS!) on Abbotsford. This is not too common, but when it happens it is really annoying. These cars are going 50-70 MPH.  I think the chicanes are a good solution to try to curtain this.  We'll see, however.

Agree.  Our home backs up to Abbotsford and we do not see the need for traffic calming.  We voted 'no', as did my two neighbors on either side. 

Now that the chicanes are in place, the aesthetic view that was once Abbotsford Road is gone; it has been supplanted by bright yellow traffic signs and, of course,  the chicanes.  Future home buyers will wonder why the need for such traffic calming measures and may well receive the wrong "message" when they visit our neighborhood.  What a shame.
