I was up at the boat ramp one day when a boat with two fishermen came in. To get ashore, one of the men had to get out and wade ashore. I wondered what would have happened had it been a family with small children. It seems there should be a dock there to facilitate getting in and out of boats. What do those of you who use this ramp frequently think? Let me know, please.

No Dock at Boat Ramp

The Parks Department asked me to poll the users of the ramp to see if they would support efforts to put in a dock. The dock would have made it easier and safer for people to get in or out of their boats without having to wade. I passed out more than 20 flyers to boaters using the ramp, asking them if they were in favor of the idea. While most of the ones I spoke with thought it was a good idea, not a single person bothered to return the flyer, even though I supplied them with a pre addressed envelope. With that show of non-support, they can forget about the dock and keep on wading.
