Am I the only one that can hear a very load barking dog? It has been going on for over a year. Does the owner care about his dog? Does he have any consideration for his neighbors? I live in the Bonnie Vista subdivision on the other side of the golf course. The owner of the dog lives in a house that backs up to the course and I can hear the dog very clearly every night. The dog is very load and barks during the day and night. Is there anything that can be done about this? I do not live in Bonnie Brae but I am would like the Bonnie Brae HOA to issue a complaint to the homeowner about his dog.

Thank you,

Bonnie Vista Resident

OMG!!!  I'm so glad to hear from you.  Not sure when you had this post but I want you to know I am with you.  I've wondered what I could do about the barking dog but when I call the county you need to get people who live right around you to file a complaint.  Unfortunatley, I didn't want to get other neighbors involved unless I knew they felt the same way and I've never brought it up.  I am in Bonnie Brae on the golf course.  YOu can imagine the sleepless nights I've had prior to going to work.  The same folks that allow the dog to bark also let them run free.  The problem did get better for a while but now I'm noticing it slowly starting up again.  The neighbor in question does not like us anymore because we raised the issue with them.  They told me to prove it!!  Really!!!!  I will gladly get in on a complaint with you should the problem start up again.  I live right next door to them and it's actually two neighbors.  We are sandwiched between the two of them and they don't understand what our problem is.  I have a dog as well but she is kept indoors while we are not there and if any barking occurs it is in short timeframes while thier dogs are barking at ours while she is out doing her business.  Sometimes she doesn't even react to thiers but the bottom line is that is you can hear it imagine what I'm going through.  I need help!!!!

I would also like to add that, because these dogs run free, I cannot take my dog for a peaceful walk because they charge my dog and me when we leave the house.  Obviously my dog reacts when being charged making our walk stressful.  I've been bitten in my own drive way but thier little 10 pound dog (they have 3 dogs, one is a little larger with good bark the other neighbor has greatly improved but used to have 3 large all night long barking dogs)in the past and when I brought it up they told me to prove it!!!  Now I need to walk around ready to film or take a picture of it.  Not fun.  Irrisponsible rude pet owners.  They wonder why we have attitudes.  They don't work so they don't care when the dogs bark at 4 AM or whatever the time is.  If anyone else is out there that feels the same way either about dog walking or barking please get back.  I need to hear from you for my own sanity.  I can be seen as cranky and these are the reasons.  I want nothing more than to be happy and live in peace but these people make it impossible with their ignorance!!  Heard throught the grapevine that electric fence is going up on thier side since I complained about being bitten but the barkin will continue and get worse through the summer!!  looking back at your post is it was yesterday(last night).  I've had to drown out the barking with a tv which also doesn't help me sleep.  Again, I'll hook up with you to do whatever we have to do.  Please get back to me!!  Unfortunately folks like this are hard to deal with and just can't get it through thier thick skulls what they are doing unless more of us band together to "prove" it.

I stated above my dog is kept inside when we aren't home.  I want to make clear, she is not left home in our fenced backyard at all unless we are with her.  We keep her out of the cold and heat and when she is outside she is not barking at all unless she is reacting to thier dogs if at all and if she does we go out and get her attention so that she stops barking and play's.  Prefer to be a responsible pet owner who cares about the neighbors!!  Although I'm done with the rude one next door.  They just don't get it and never will.  Invite anyone over to see for themselves what a well behaved playful, quiet dog she is.  She'll kiss you to death.  Gotta look out for the nipping barkers thoughSmile
