Town of Braintree

Before we go there, I am and have been involved in many areas of the town's politics and I am a current town meeting member.

If you feel that you can be a constructive leader in town, please take out papers and run. It is really expensive to run for Selectman, but you can run for other positions without mortgaging your future.

I am not trying to discourage anyone from running for selectman, I just want you to know that if you don't want to take money from the people who would like to buy your services that it is very costly to run.

School Committee is one position that the power brokers (i.e. builders) aren't interested in and is a very important position. The school committee is certainly out of control with the money.

Run for moderator. Appoint the towns committee members, finance committee and government study appointees come to mind.

If you don't want to run, find some other good citizen to run and put some of your money into his/her campaign.

Otherwise, the teachers and builders will continue to own the town and raise your property values and taxes year after year after year.

There is so much mud being tossed around, so many lies, so many
elected officials who are corrupt,
bought and paid for by special
interest that I wouldn't even
consider running for dog catcher.

Democracy is alive and well except here
in the US.

The great American sport is hounding their elected officials, first we elect them ,then we denounce them then when the die we mourn them, what a country.

Run for office, if you have the coins or guts you will succeed, your name will either go down in history or flames.
