The only reason for trash fee

The only reason Braintree homeowners have been hit with a trash fee at all is because our soon-to-be-former Executive Secretary and the gang of five have never had the stones to make SEMASS live up to the spirit AND the intent of our agreement with them. As the host community for SEMASS and the transfer station, Braintree was NEVER supposed to pay outright for trash service. Past agreements basically made it a wash between what we paid Waste Management and what we got in return from SEMASS.

Naturally, you let Waste Management charge us more for trash pickup then what we get in return from SEMASS and you have a trash budget shortfall.

We don't need a trash fee or a debt exclusion to fund trash service. We need people who can negotiate a contract that doesn't give away the store. But hey, that's a common problem in town these days.

No on the Debt Exclusion, no on the trash fee. RENEGOTIATE WITH SEMASS and Waste Management.

One selectman voted against the debt exclusion. Why is it that ''due diligence darren'' can spew his foolish rhetoric about we the townspeople using due diligence to find funding sources instead of raising taxes or doing a debt exclusion. Here is your chance mr. diligence for you to lay out your platform on how braintree is going to fund its infrastructure problems. Be heard and give us your solution to this problem you empty suit.

If there is a cost for trash pickup now and you vote for an override to fix all our problems and it wont cost more than the trash fee. where does the money for the trash pickup come from. After 10 years where does it come from? THe selectmen are about to scam the residents again and you are falling for it.
