I hope you feel that way at town meeting and make your points known. Maybe you could ask these financial wizards just how much they are receiving in total increases per year; the step that is budgeted and the new contracted increase. And I think SC Wacko made a good point about writing a contract for 4 yrs., if you think that is a valid point possibly you could be our representive for change in that area as well.

How about you?
I will make my points known to Town meeting but how about you? Why can't you make a call or visit to the School Department or to a member of the School Committee and ask the wizards yourself.
There is strength in numbers and as Ms. Mackin says, ''We all need to step up to the plate.''
I don't mind agreeing to a 4 year contract that we can afford. I have an issue with a contract that the school committee and superintendent knows that we can't afford and isn't considerate of the rest of the town.
Town Meeting isn't just for town meeting members. I hope to see you there.

Passing the buck
Does anybody else think the SC did what they did just to get the teachers off their backs and let Town Meeting look like the bad guys if they throw it out?

If you think town meeting
will do anything other then accept and fund the contract, you are nuts! Town Meeting is dominated by town employees and they are simply a rubber stamp because they expect to get the same package or better. Nobody in these discussions has any idea about the real process. Not only will we get screwed with a four year contract, but you can ADD ANOTHER 35-40% to what the liars tell you, because the accompanying increase in benefit costs figure to that much. Now aren't you glad you voted against a change in form of government. Suck it up and open your wallets.
