Town of Braintree

Town Meeting Needs Help

Posted in: Braintree
I'm a member of the town meeting and what has gone on in the last 2 days has made me feel embarrassed for the town of Braintree. I know this is a free country and everybody should be able to have a say in how the town is run. My problem is that some people like (Mr. O'Neil) seem to be disruptive at these town meeting. I feel Monday night he was disrespectful to the Fire chief concerning purchasing a new car for the Fire Department. Last night after Vincent Joyce spoke concerning possibilities of people taking advantage of tax bills he couldn't leave it alone, he insulted Mr. Joyce. Like I said everyone has should have a voice. But PLEASE Mr. O'Neil lets be respectful and next year when you come to these meetings leave the chip on your shoulder at Home.

Fight Back,Debate O'Neil

If you feel that he is being a rude tyrant speak in opposition to his motions, blather.Don't plead with him,
if he has the courage of his convictions he will ignore you!

Pretend that you are Danial Webster and
he is John Calhoon, get up into his face as Zell suggests!

Turn it into a great debate and make
a name for yourself!

I am sure he,with his ego, rise to the occasion.

As they say ''Give Him Hell Harry''.
Bill O'Neill has courage

At least Bill O'Neill has the courage to put his name to his posts on this crying wall. Unlike everyone else who posts invectives from the safety of your anonyminity seated in your cushy high back chairs.

And also he has the courage to put a face to his name at town meeting while he speaks his mind. And the courage to run an elective office campaign based on his courage to face off squarely against the entrenched vested special interest.

Like GWH, he might not be eloquent , but he gets his point across. He might not be P.C. but he puts out a message we all know we wish we could but don't have the courage.
He speaks and votes his mind and doesn't look around town meeting to see first how others are voting on an issue.

He's on message and on topic and has the courage to get up and say it.

I wish him well and continue and look forward to what he has to say at any public forum.

If we didn't have Bill, our community would roll over and play dead for the vested influence peddlers to have their way.

I certainly don't have his courage but am very glad our community has someone like Bill to be the other half of the good cop/bad cop. He has the courage to and he will at least do the undercover work and route out and expose where the special interests lay in wait.

We wish we could have his courage.
Keep up the good work Bill.

Please

Dear Mr. I Don't Have the Courage,
You have to be kidding me. I live in Braintree and it is people like him that make me worry about our town. This guy is a laughing stock of this town. This is why people don't want anything to do with town meeting. We don't need good cop , bad cop. What we need is for him to think about the town, not himself!
