There ought to be a Globe Spotlight Investigation! For five years, Messina has ''pocketed'' the all alcoholic beverage license supposedly for Braintree's newest eatery, Charlie G's next to Bugaboo! A year ago, our Selectmen grilled Messina's lawyer about this illegal pocketed license, but they were assured by mid summer, Braintree would be flocking this new eatery/gin mill. Then, Hooters arrived as the next best thing with flaunted features of the fairer sex. Our Selectmen Chairman said ''not on my watch'' to Pope FX until after the election at least. Well, folks, there is no more a Hooters or a Charlie G's opened next to Bugaboo than there is a Foxy Lady. This license is worth thousands (''99'' paid over $200,000 to purchase their license from the Chinese restaurant on Quincy AVenue) and our Selectmen have allowed Francis X to orchestrate this travesty of good government. Time our Selectmen and their worthless, memoryless Executive Sectretary get off their worthless butts and call in this license as revoked and find some legitimate establishment that will do Braintree proud. That's what needs to be done, but could it be it won't be done because FX donates to all these politicians' campaigns to retain these valued perks? An unjust travesty on us all!
