what do you mean get over it. if it's illegal close it. are you suggesting we look the other way because he has been in business in town for many years, so have alot of other businesses. should we do the same for them? get real.

I Agree - Pool Our Resources

An outdoor pool can be built 100% out of Petersen funds that I've been told amount to just over $1.5 million. If it costs $1.250 to build a pool, then the remaining $250,000 would be invested by the trust fund commissioners and the interest income earned each year would subsidize the annual operational costs. Users of the pool would pay a nominal fee with family memberships a bargain like in other towns and taxpayer dollars wouldn't be needed to run the pool - just like our golf course.
Second, with respect to the funeral home operator, how would you like to be a competitor in town seeing the town subsidize this respected businessman with a town parking lot and gate he installed providing free parking to his customers and visitors at the expense of the town's playground users? Ethically, it is wrong for the parks commissioners to condone this illegal fence, but I wonder why Cartwrights and McMasters don't steal their way into a similar arrangement on town property? It's my understanding that our town's attorney opined years ago that it would be illegal to enable a private business operator to gain business wise by use of town public parks and playgrounds land and this proprietor was told to remove the gate he installed illegally. Wonder why it wasn't done? Finally, with respect to the bereaved visiting the funeral home several hundreds of feet from the proposed pool site, wonder what they say when there are hundreds of gym users attending youth basketball games every Saturday throughout the winter - coming and going all day long as has been done for about fifty years at that gym? Or football games that attrracted literally thousands to games on weekends for years when the high school played there? I respect the funeral home operators, but their lack of cooperation with this idea is puzzling at a minimum.

To the reference of an ''illegal fence'' what is the authority of the first poster who says it is ''illegal''. Just because the poster states it is illegal isn't necessarily true. And I think the point of the responding poster is that it seems as if the so called ''illegal fence'' is justification to ignore the concerns of the business owner. Get it???? Anyone who makes statements without proof of such SHOULD leave people or businesses alone. Why say something without knowing it is true to justify what it is you want? The person that needs to ''get real'' is the one who started this thread by making questionable accusations.

Lets rename sunset lake to peterson pool.Except for a few out of towners nobody goes there anyways. The reason for that is because every other house in Braintree has their own pool Another reason is because in this day and age we have to deal with drugs hepetitas,aids and lots of dirty people that need a bath.
