Our Selectmen voted 4-1 to place on the ballot in April a twelve million dollar debt exclusion override question. It will eliminate the trash fee, pay off the incredibly wasteful school design bond and the library construction bond, fix roads, fix schools and some more for the same cost of a trash fee. IN theory, a resident would have to be deaf, dumb and stupid not to vote for such an override. Even the blue hairs are going to get some new carpet at their center to curry their votes. My disbelief with this logical argument supported by all except Mr. McAuliffe is that Darrin opposed it. What exactly in this logic does he not understand? WE all get this, that and some more for the same cost of a trash fee and the cost to doing that for ten years is cheaper than if we maintain status quo. Darrin is so much empty air in a balloon that we need to place his name as another ''has been'' on the walls of government.

Could not agree more
Darrin McAuliffe simply is not able to make a tough decision (or any decision) on that board. Call him Dithering Darrin. When the board had to vote to increase the tax rate, Darrin didn't show for the vote rather than have to come down on any side of the issue.
Of course there will be an uproar about this override from some, even though on paper it does look like it won't cost us more than we're already out of pocket for. But the real reason to be disgusted by Darrin's lack of a back bone is that all selectmen voted on was to give residents the chance to decide whether they want an override or not. It could fail - and given Braintree's track record, it will. Darrin, in his Nancy voice, goes on and on about dilligence and taking more time and the importance of presenting residents with alternatives to tax increases. Well, you certainly can suggest them (though one expects that he can't), but Darrin, the most important thing you can give residents is the option to choose. You get in the way of that and you're doing much more harm than good.
People will recall a similar situation last year, when a $12 million debt-exclusion was proposed and both Chuck Bucks and Darrin opposed putting it on the ballot...until the selectmen's hereing room was flooded with residents demanding the board rethink its vote and let the people decide what's best.
At least this year, Chuck Bucks learned and was in the majority. Darrin, you might think that being the sole member in the minority means your standing up for what you believe: too bad you keep choosing the wrong votes. This vote was simply asking whether the board thinks residents have the right to decide yes or no on an override. How, in the name of God, can Darrin find himself on the wrong side of THAT vote?

THE OVERRIDE BOOBS
Override Central
THE OVERRIDE BOOBS ARE HERE AGAIN,HIDE YOUR WALLETS!!
(They may be your selectmen but they are not mine, We will keep the one that voted no on the tax increase, that?’s what an exclusion is. What part of no don?’t you people understand. We will take the proposed school raise money and use that for partial repair on the roads, the schools have been farted around with for years, you have money in hidden funds use that for the schools!)
IN theory, a resident would have to be deaf, dumb and stupid not to vote for such an override.
(In theory I resent your characterizing me as deaf or dumb or especially stupid,
If you and yours don?’t understand no to an override or an exclusion then you are the ones who are stupid!!
Even the blue hairs are going to get some new carpet at their center to curry their votes. My disbelief with this logical argument supported by all except Mr. McAuliffe is that Darrin opposed it. What exactly in this logic does he not understand?
(Your distain for older people is noted, you are perhaps a teacher in this school overly well compensate School system and smell the potential of fresh cash, your greed is disgusting and will eventually bankrupt this town unless checked!!)
WE all get this, that and some more for the same cost of a trash fee and the cost to doing that for ten years is cheaper than if we maintain status quo. Darrin is so much empty air in a balloon that we need to place his name as another ''has been'' on the walls of government.(You at the school committee are desposed to relegate anyone who doesn?’t do your collective bidding to the trash heap! You as a group play fast and free with a persons reputation if he/she displeases you and yours!
The power of the school unions and fellow followers has to be broken in this town and indeed the entire state.)
(The trash fee was an punishment for not voting for an override last time and now if we obey your wishes the punishment is rescinded, what is the null caSE.

Not Just Stupid, But Idiot ...
Hide Your Wallets is about the dumbest ass ever to visit Braintree. Yes, deaf, dumb and in particular, STUPID as a jackass!
It's a given you pay $150/year now for a trash sticker. It isn't deductible as a routine householder's service tax because it's a fee, not a tax as YackyAcky would be quoted as saying. It's here until the rest of the dumb cows come in for milking!
To get rid of it and have it (trash pick up curbside) again as a town service paid by your taxes, we FOR THE SAME COST get rid of other debt (school replacement design costs that were never used and the library bond)fix some roads, fix some schools yadadadada! In ten years, the cost is gone!
We have fiduciary responsibilities as stockholders in Braintree to keep our house in order. Unfortunately, we have jackasses up our assess making our efforts more difficult than it needs to be and Hide Your Wallets is Braintree's 2005 King Jack Ass!
