Town of Braintree

School Budget Issues

Posted in: Braintree
just consider for a moment

the town could have sold the building.like they did with the Land mark.and take the money for town budget.but not to Messina.he would have burned it to the ground and then would have constructed his version of Graceland on the waters of Lake Messina,i mean Sunset Lake.you know whats really funny? at least Messina
has a master plan for Braintree.he would have to change the name eventually though,to Messinarittaville

Why

should the selectmen get to choose who gets to own those properties? The Foster is in the middle of a dead end neighborhood. Not just anyone could/should own it. Also why should the sale of these properties go into the general fund? The school department took care of them for years. A major premise that this town seems to not understand is that all the buildings , infrastructure, etc are the responsibility of the town. Your school system, like your library, town hall , etc. are your responsibility. So many of the people of this town want to just get rid of the school system. You don't want to take care of it. You want people to buy your pricey houses because of your school system, but you don't want to fund if. You owe it to the children of this town and to the parents who paid a lot of money for the houses they bought to take care of it. You say it's not managed well. Well, what department in this town is managed well? NONE. Unfortunately, the children of this town can't do anything about it, but they are the victims of small minded people who only look for the cheapest way out of anything. So many people who answer these discussions are only interested in themselves, not anyone else. What's in it for them? and how can it save me money? Why should we take care of the Council on Aging property? Do they rent it out? That was an old school. Why does the town have to pay for repairs for that? Why don't they pay for their own repairs? I'm sure that's a different story!!! Right??
