I don't agree that we still live in the most progressive state in the nation. Maybe a 15 years ago but I don't think that holds true anymore.
Second, I'm not sure being realted to a politician makes you entitled or even qualified to take his place. Let's get the right person for the job -- not the person with the right name. Your obviously pretty far to the left politically, but on some level you must agree that Ted has lost touch at ;east to some degree in the past 4 years or so.
I agree he is one of the most effective Senators. The question is effective for whom? The progressive agenda or for his constituents? I for one don't believe those interests are always aligned
