Where Are They
No cops directing traffic on Liberty yesterday either. The construction crew were acting as their own flagmen.

You Bunch Of Crybabies
Everybody sniff up your runny noses and wipe off your tears, because the town paid a lot of money to the contractors and town employees got their overtime pay. You have no say in the matter. Its over and done with. Time to bitch and bellyache about the next subject. If we have another large storm like this and the town feels it has to remove snow from the squares, be sure to call and complain BEFORE the work is done, maybe they wont do it. Perhaps the business owners should be responsible for cleaning and removing the snow from in front of their places. For that matter, why dont all residents buy four wheel drives and we can do away with snowplowing altogether. Now that would be fun..... By Wipe Your Tears |

Rte. 37 - Pedestrian Injured
FYI. There was a 24yr. old Braintree girl seriously injured on Washington Street a few days ago. The incident occurred just prior to the Washington/South Street split. The young lady was hit by a vehicle traveling south towards Holbook. Word is that the sidewalks were covered with snow and she was caused to walk in the breakdown lane of 37. As a parent, my first reaction was ''how many of our school children walk in the breakdown lane of 37 everyday to reach their emergency bus route stops''? Curious as to how many heard/read about this terrible incident. There was one brief mention of the tragedy in the Patriot Ledger. The Town Officials of Braintree need to start enforcing and/or helping out with clearing of sidewalks to make them safe to navigate. If the town officials' answer is Rte. 37 is a state highway - it appears they should make it a priority to contact/call state highway officials to rectify this hazardous situation ASAP. There have been too many tragedies on Rte.37. Let's hope another can be avoided with the correct and due diligence of the appropriate officials. |
