Kerry's mom was right He had non
Sen Kerry's use of Mary Cheney's sexual orientation was a deliberate attempt to draw votes from President Bush. But all the outrage and pecking at the perimeter only hides the real core of Mr. Kerry. It is his personal ambition that is at the core of who he is and there is no one he will not use to achieve his goals.
The Swifties have seen him in action and they don't trust his judgment or integrity, they have seen his core. He was a loose cannon charging and flailing and putting their patrols in danger. He was undisciplined and untrustworthy. He returned to the States and trashed them to launch his political career at their peril and expense. He does not care about others, only his political ambitions to become president.
He has had this ambition since his youth. It is this ambition that makes him dangerous because it is only self serving. His desire to be president is the only reason he is running. He desires power and fame. This is what many people see in him when they look and listen, but can't quite get the clarity to see what's really there. Their heart tells them he isn't who he seems to be and there is something there that disturbs them.
Sen. Kerry's story of his mother on her death bed reveals much about her knowledge of her son. There was a reason she said integrity was what he most needed to have. He had none, and that obviously bothered her.
Through time there is hope that someone can change, but time alone will not do it. Sadly he has not heeded his mother's words. Mary Cheney is only the latest of the many victims he has used and will continue to use to promote his goals. She was expendable and of no value to him except as a tool to further his ambition.
Character in our president does matter. Sen. Kerry is the same at his core today as he was 30 years ago. Unfortunately for all of us, he is one step away from having the kind of power he has always wanted to wield. God help us if he achieves it.
