Hi Jewel, I had mentioned in earlier post going up to the lot this Saturday and holding a sign protesting the building of a CVS and try to get more signatures for the meeting on Tuesday.  How many signatures do you have.  Do you know how many residents are going to the meeting?  Do you think going to the corner would do any good or maybe just some more door to door.  Has anyone hit the condos and the townhouses?

hi jim sorry didnt check my email

We have sent about 23 signitures in to county council thru our canvasing.  i think u need about 75% and since our communication sysyem has been tied up and people are partimers well u know ... It was way to cold on sat to stand out there. i went out to see if u were there couple times maybe we need to make a facebook  page? any thoughts ?

yes we did hit the town houses . dont think a lot of people know about the meeting or can make it on tues but i know 2 people who are going

here's my letter

                                                                                                                                                                       Villages

Hon. Members of the Council,

I am a concerned property owner from the Villages at Five Points.  I disagree with the Board of Directors’ letter in it’s decision to offer it’s full support to Olde Towne Pointe, LLC, in their efforts to bring CVS Pharmacy to the Village of Five Points’ main entrance.

  1. The board of directors does not represent me as a homeowner on this issue as it was not presented to me at any meeting.  Any new commercial and 24 hour facility would use the homeowners’ road affecting our homeowners’ fees.  This in effect needs to be voted on by the homeowners themselves since it means we bear the expense.
  2. The road to the entrance of the Village is dangerous and narrow.
  3. The board of directors is well-situated; since its inception the board has been comprised of the developer and the builders themselves.  They do not adequately protect the interests of the homeowners.   it is an obvious  conflict of interests that the developer and partners are officers on the board.
  4. Commercial properties in the Villages of Five points are currently underutilized and need  to be rented.  Business such as Five Guys and Moon Cleaners were discouraged from renting.
  5.  I believe the development of the open field will negatively impact the value of my property.
  6. The land was originally slated for community use, not commercial use.    This issue was not brought to the homeowners as problematic.

I object changing the zoning from AR-1 to B-1. B-1 would allow the master developer to erect a CVS or any one of 25 types of commercial businesses including, but not limited to a filling (gasoline) stations that negatively impacts a residential community.  Once again, please keep the property AR-1 as currently zoned to preserve the integrity of the Lewes area, our community and my home.

Respectfully ,
