Insight Broadband Problems

Approximately around the end of February (2009) I began experiencing intermittent internet connection problems. I am an Insight customer with 10.0 broadband service. Most of the time my internet connection performs correctly. However, I have trouble typically in the evening hours (between 8pm and 11pm). I have spoken with Insight many, many times and they have even been to my home. The problem has not been resolved. Another neighbor and Insight customer has expressed the same difficulty with her internet. I am wondering if there are any other Insight customers having connectivity issues as well.

I am having problems also.  I had an insight repair man at my home yesterday and he said that he had just been at a house down the street that was having similair problems.   He checked my connection and said that it was very bad.  Then he went outside and climbed the pole and told me that the problem was the cable outside of the house and that he would call maintenance.  I am having phone problems as well.  The repairman told me that it would take 24-48 hours for someone from "maintentance" to come and fix the problem and then "hopefully" I would not have any more problems.  But honestly, this is really a bit ridiculous.  I have been having problems for weeks that have gotten increasingly worse. Now, I can't even go online between 8 and 10pm and sometimes during the day I have problems. I am this close to cancelling my insight account completely. Let me know if you hear anything more. 

This has little of nothing to do with any outdoor lines. There is a card at the end of the neighborhood that our line feeds off of if you have the 10.0 service. I switched to 20.0 and the problem went away because it feeds off of a different card.

Call Tech support, tell them to do maintenance on the 10.0 card and it should fix the issue.

I talked with Insight today and they said that maintenance had been in our neighborhood fixing the problem yesterday.  I am still having problems and she promised that it would be fixed.  I may try the switch to 20.0 and see if that helps.  Was it a large increase in your cable to make the upgrade?
