Casa Mia Neighborhood Committee

Has anyone been flashed by a camera on Westray?  My daughters friend lives over in that neighborhood and as I drove by the camera flashed me.  My friend also says that it flashes her and her child when they are simply walking by.  She also said that the camera flashes whenever there are kids playing outside.  I was under the impression that it is illegal to take pictures of kids. Now if it is for there security shouldnt the camera take pictures of his property and only his property?  I believe that by them taking pictures of every single person walking, running, or driving by is not security. I am sure the police would be interested in the pictures of all the small children on his camera.  By the way the camera is in plain sight and is hanging off the front of thier house.  I have driven by in the day time and it is very very very noticable.  I dont know about you but if it were me I would put the camera in a discreet place.  I am very uncomfortable knowing there is some weirdo taking pictures of children for his own pleasuree, or so it seems, why else would he do that??????

If it concerns you call the Sheriff's station and ask them if it's legal if anything can be done, etc.

Who knows maybe they did and just talked to the people.

I'd ask if you can have a deputy follow up with you.  I've called a couple of times on things and both times the dispatcher asked me if I wanted the deputy to follow up with me on the matter once he/she responded to it.  Both times I said no, but if you either say yes or request it then you'll know what happened and what was done.
