That is a great article! This just goes to show you what is going on with the HOA's. Kind of proves appoint that we need to come together as a community and help out. I personally do not want my dues raised because of the empty homes here at Castlegate. If we can come together we can be a model community for all HOA's to look at. Unfortunately, not all the residents here will chip in and help out. This next meeting will be interesting. Tell all of your neighbors to be there.

I was one of the few that did show up on Saturday morning for the "weed roundup", and wanted to thank everyone that showed there support.  Support in even the littlest way, giving us water, spraying the yard when we were done.  All of this helps.  I agree with Roughneck, lets show up all the other communities.  Can you image having the News stations come out and report on what we are doing in this time of crisis.  Yes I will call it a crisis.  Many people have lost there homes, or just given them back.  It is time for people to come together and help out each other, and yourself.  Cleaning up the community will do nothing but good for yourself and your house value.  Supporting the "weed roundup" can come in many ways too.  Donate weed killer, drinking water, call the bank that ownes the property next door ( twice a day Smile ) and ask them to clean up there weeds, bring your truck and haul the bags down to the dumpsters, use the donated weed killer and spray the yards after the others have cleaned it up, or bring some really good chocolate chip cookies.  There is really something for everyone.

I heard over and over that the street behind the one we were working on is ten times worse.  That means we need ten times the amount of people.  Heck bring the kids, work an hour or two.  No one I believe is asking for people to spend the whole day out in the hot sun.

Better organisation is needed for the next time.  How about everyone meet at the HOA meeting on the 8th and we all can discuss the next "Weed Roundup".

If they are out of money how come at the last meeting we were told they were going to spend about 10k apiece for some big sun shields? Seems like the priorities are a bit out of sync.
