Hey I made the time. It was her birthday and someone sent her flowers and they weren't home so the flower guy brought them to my place and put a sign on their door. She came over to pick them up and since it was obvious they were for her b-day I went and grabbed them, explained to her what the guy told me to tell her to keep them "happy" for awhile and then wished her a happy birthday, no thank you, no even a joke if she was not thrilled about a birthday all she said was "whatever" and walked away. My son accidentally kicked his soccer ball over the wall (ONLY time it's not a habit) and we knocked on their door to see about getting it back, could hear the TV, we went over three times and no answer, so i left a note on their car, it took their landlord coming out to do yard maintenance a good month later before anyone ever threw that ball back over. I've seen them outside and said hi, waved, never even get a head nod in my direction.
And then no neighbors on the other side of us, vacant house, across the street it's like a "sometimes" house, gentleman comes and goes periodically isn't here very often, it's slim pickin's on some streets unfortunately.
Been here 4 years, don't really know anyone on our street. Wish we did, and I have tried in some cases, but everybody just seems to be in their own little world |

And I will say I am outside almost everyday with my son as he wants to play out front, ride his scooter, etc so I am out there every day for 30-60 minutes while he plays out there, only person who I've ever really seen or had say hi are the guys drumming up business for the pest control companies LoL.
I've just noticed that people seemed very "closed off" out here. And I admit, I lived with my parents at our place in California for 6 years, and we never really knew many neighbors there either. Just today's world I guess. Kind of stinks sometimes though! |

We moved into the neighborhood on January first of this year and have meet a couple of our neighbors, but no one seems to really want to get to know one another. We moved here from Washington State and our neighborhood we lived in there was very friendly, every body got to know one another and we also would borrow a cup of milk, sugar or whatever and every one watched out for each other. The HOA would put together a BBQ every summer and all the neighbors would come out and every one would bring a dish of food (Potluck), there would be games and fun stuff for the kids, it really was a lot of fun. |
