Where are the Landscapers?

Posted in: Castlegate

I know it doesn't look fabulous, but if stopping it for a few months saves $60,000 that's A LOT of money, I think it's well worth it personally.  Lights are needed for safety, trash is needed for sanitation, landscaping is a luxury IMO not a need (well it may become a fire hazard if left unattended too long but we're nowhere near that point).  It isn't permanent.  Like anyone with financial debt sometimes you have to give up luxuries for a short time in order to deal with a more immediate issue and then you can go back to the luxuries when you're more financially sound.  Let's face it the financial state was not great, I think the board is trying really hard to make cuts where they can for small periods of time on things that aren't an absolute necessity.  One more month and it'll go back to the way it was , no harm no foul, and in the process we just saved $60K.  Laughing

The landscape meeting will be Tuesday the 23rd at 6pm or 7pm (Check the mailboxes for the flyer) at Simonton.  4 companies will be there presenting their bid.  There will be a 20 min Q&A for homeowners and the board to ask any questions of any of the companies.  I encourage everyone to attend.  This is a big decision for our community and BY FAR our biggest spending account.  Everyone should have a say on where we spend the largest portion of our money.

Rosewood, I wasn't speaking of you, or anyone really I was just saying in general.  I work nights too and so does my husband so I understand the "night shift" issues.  Was just pointing it out for others reading.  Also keep in mind the $50 goes for the managment company, electricity, paying for the HOA monthly meeting place (the school), as well as other things and not just trash service.  It's also being used to build up a buffer as no HOA should be broke or living "paycheck to paycheck" so to speak.

The electricity should be cheap we have a handfull of lights around here, and the HOA meetings should be cheap as well. I think the managment company is ripping us off.

We should have the meetings on a weekend so most of us home owners can be there ,or is it set up on mid weeks on purpose so we cant be there?  This whole thing has got me upset. I can't stand it when people come up with excuses. I lived in a place where this happened before and it turned out someone was stealing the money.
