I am guilty! It's 1pm and I just now took in the trash can because hubby forgot.
I agree, I doubt most people care where your trash can is. I am all about little government. Power to the people!

I do agree with you about responsibility, as well as following set rules. However, my concerns are with HOA and community priorities.
Let us spend more time beautifying our area - NOT JUST our community. Let us deal with obvious eyesores in and around this area. A couple of months ago I picked up garbage (a large television set and four containers of discarded motor oil) that had sat for MONTHS at the corner of Ocotillo and Schnepf road. I was tired of waiting on Pinal county to pick it up, so I did it myself and disposed of it properly.
Why not invest some energy into caring for our environment - Including the area that surrounds Castelgate? Lets help each other out - Not turn each other in to the HOA.
If we are going to "rat out" our neighbor, let us do that because they are conducting illegal activity, or violating a HOA rule that is more substantial than a garbage can being left out after the Wednesday pick-up.
Priorities, people - Priorities.

Yes, you are right!
The problem is that a MINORITY of the people in Castlegate (and in most HOA's in this country) get to make a MAJORITY of the decisions. Is that Democracy?
Most people are far too busy to get involved here - What little time folks have is spent with family, at church, etc.
Would love to chat more, but I just noticed that my neighbor has a weed poking out of his front yard......What was the HOA's phone number again????
:-)
