CRIME REPORT; 10-01-10
Good morning!!!!! Here are a few examples from overnight incidents. Officer Valentine stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Grape. During the traffic stop, a 21 year old male and a 20 year old male were found to be in possession of marijuana and were arrested. Officer Hambright stopped a vehicle in the 1700 block of South 3rd. The driver, a 31 year old male, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. He provided a breath sample that was more than double the legal limit. This incident is the 490th DWI in Abilene since January 1st. The National Police Week Team will be having a fundraiser at the Mall of Abilene this weekend, October 2nd and 3rd. Funds are being raised to help send the family of Officer Rodney Holder and Unity Tour riders to Washington, D.C. next May for National Police Week. Rodney will be honored in various ceremonies during the week and our riders will honor other officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving those they protect.
