From the Department of Public Works regarding our petition to have South 8th repaired: "We are fairly confident, of course in our line of work we always preface schedules with words like weather permitting and avoiding unforeseen circumstances, that the project on South 8th will be completed by the end of the summer.  This allows us some room for foreseen conditions, like material delays or weather issues, or  unforeseen conditions, like utilities or bid submittals, that might occur during the design, program or construct phases of this project.  We are working on the design now.  Then we will bid the contract and get Council approval.  Then the work can begin.  So, we would like to be conservative and estimate 6-9 months."  GO! OTANA!
